About Us:                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          The Knockane herd, bred by John & Theresa Murphy, is located on the south-east coast, in Knockane, Annestown,Co. Waterford. This pedigree herd was established within our long standing suckler enterprise in 1998, with a view to utilising quality bloodlines todevelop a reliable pedigree herd rich in muscle, with excellent conformation.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Knockane Simmentals is committed to breeding high growth rate cattle with high feed efficiency, easy fleshing and, critically, a docile temperament- see  Photo Gallery & Herd Profile for an overview of the prominant dams and sires (both AI and our own pedigree stock bulls) which have been used to build our herd thus far.

Dec. 2010  Curaheen Vio listed as Ireland's No. 1 sire across all breeds in the latest ICBF Genetic Evaluation! - with a whopping 157 for Muscle, 134 Skeletal, 128 Functionality & a Suckler Beef Value of €277, Weanling Export €129 & Beef Carcass €189.
